Every home has a different level of clutter and disorganization, so the cost to declutter an entire home can vary quite a bit from one client to another.
As a general idea, whole-home decluttering services typically start around $5,000, with many of our clients spending between $5,000 and $10,000. Larger projects or homes with a significant amount of items can cost more.
It’s also important to keep in mind that most of our clients who hire us to declutter their entire home also want help organizing it. Once we’ve gone through the items and decided what’s staying, we can organize what’s left so everything has a place, and the home is easier to maintain.
Some of the biggest factors that affect the total cost include:
- The size of your home
- The number of items you have
- How many areas you want help with
- How much you’re ready to part with
- How quickly you make decisions about what to keep, donate, or get rid of
- Whether you want organizing help after decluttering
For example, decluttering a three-bedroom home where the client is ready to part with a lot of items may take significantly less time than a similar-sized home with years of accumulated belongings that need to be sorted through individually.
That’s why we look at each whole-home decluttering project individually rather than giving every home the same price.

What Affects the Cost of Decluttering Services?
1. Size of the Home
A larger home usually means more areas to go through, which takes more time and sessions.
2. Number of Items
This is one of the biggest factors.
A home with many items to sort through, move, and remove will naturally take longer than a home that just needs light decluttering.
3. Level of Hands-On Help
Some clients prefer working alongside an organizer, while others want a more hands-off experience where the team does most of the physical work.
More hands-on help usually means:
- Faster progress
- More organizers involved
- Higher overall cost
4. Number of Organizers
Projects can be done with:
- 1 organizer (slower, more budget-friendly)
- 2 organizers (balanced approach)
- 3+ organizers (faster, higher investment)
More organizers mean the project gets done faster, but the session cost is higher.
5. Organizing After Decluttering
Decluttering is one part of the process, but what happens after is just as important.
Once items are removed, many clients also want help:
- Putting items away
- Creating systems
- Setting up storage
This is the step where everything starts to feel more put together. Instead of just having less, you now have a space that actually functions day-to-day.
Without this step, it’s easy for things to slowly pile back up. But when items have a clear place and a simple system, it becomes much easier to maintain.
Adding this step does increase the overall time and investment of decluttering services, but it’s often what makes the biggest long-term difference.

How Much Does It Cost to Declutter & Organize Different Areas of Your Home?
Just like no two homes are the same, no two rooms have the exact same amount of clutter or need the same amount of help.
For example, one client may want help going through a few cabinets and drawers in their kitchen, while another may want us to declutter and organize their entire kitchen and pantry. Even though they’re technically the same area of the home, those are two very different projects.
Our decluttering and organizing services generally start around $795, while whole-home projects typically start around $5,000.
To give you a better idea of what individual areas of the home can cost, here’s a general breakdown:
| Area of the Home | Typical Starting Cost |
|---|---|
| Kitchen | Around $795+ |
| Large Walk-In Pantry | Around $795+ |
| Bedroom | Around $795+ |
| Closets | Around $795+ |
| Large Garage | Around $1,500+ |
| Home Office | Around $795+ |
| Playroom | Around $795+ |
| Whole Home | Around $5,000+ |
What About Smaller Spaces?
Smaller spaces like bathrooms, laundry rooms, linen closets, smaller pantries, and entryway closets don’t necessarily cost $795 each.
Because our services start around $795, we can often work on multiple smaller areas during the same project. For example, we may be able to declutter and organize a bathroom, linen closet, and laundry room within the same session, depending on how much there is to go through and organize.
These prices are meant to give you a general idea rather than an exact quote. The actual cost will depend on how much is in the space, how much you want help going through, how quickly decisions are made, and how much organizing is needed once we’re finished decluttering.

What’s Included in the Cost of Decluttering Services?
Decluttering a whole entire home is a big project, so our goal is to take as much of the work off your plate as possible.
Depending on the size of your project, you may work with one professional organizer or a team of organizers. We work alongside you to go through your belongings and help you decide what you’d like to keep, donate, or get rid of.
Our decluttering services typically include:
- Working with one or more professional organizers, depending on the size of your project
- Boxes and trash bags needed during the decluttering process
- Hands-on help sorting through your belongings
- Physical help removing items from cabinets, closets, shelves, attics, and other areas
- Help with lifting, bending, reaching, and moving items as we work through your space
- Guidance and support as you decide what to keep, donate, or get rid of
- Organizing the items you decide to keep
- Donation removal at the end of your session
You can be as hands-on as you’d like. Some clients prefer to go through items with us one by one, while others make the decisions and let our team handle most of the sorting and physical work.
At the end of the session, we can also load up the items you’re donating and take them to a local donation center for you.
The idea is to make decluttering your home require less time, physical work, and effort from you, while still making sure you’re the one deciding what stays and what goes.

Whole-Home Decluttering Takes Time
Going through an entire home is a big project. There can be hundreds of decisions to make, especially when you’re going through belongings you’ve accumulated over many years.
We also don’t necessarily start with the hardest decisions. When working through a home, we may start with some of the easier things to declutter first, such as expired items, broken items, things you no longer use, or items that are missing pieces. This can help us start clearing things out before moving on to belongings that may take a little more thought.
You can also read our guide on 10 things professional organizers declutter first to see some of the items we typically recommend starting with.
Because of that, whole-home decluttering is typically completed over multiple sessions rather than all in one day. We can work through the home one area at a time, decluttering and then organizing each space as we go.
Our sessions are broken into either 5 or 5.5 hours, and within that time we help you get as much done as we can.
How long the entire decluttering process takes will depend on your home, how much you have, how quickly you make decisions, and how much help you want throughout the process.

What Happens to Everything You Remove?
One question that comes up a lot is what happens to the items you decide to let go of.
Throughout the process, you’re the one making the decisions. We’re there to guide you and help you think through what makes sense to keep, but nothing is removed without your input. You always have the final say on what stays and what goes.
Once items are set aside, they’re typically:
- Donated
- Thrown away
- Recycled

Is it Worth Getting Professional Decluttering Help for Your Home?
Yes. Hiring a professional decluttering service is worth it. For many people, the biggest benefit isn’t just a cleaner home. It’s:
- Less time spent looking for things
- Less stress day to day
- Spaces that actually function the way they should
- More mental clarity, focus, and productivity
It’s also about having someone there to guide decisions and handle the physical work so the project actually gets finished. Read more about the benefits of hiring a decluttering service.
A More Realistic Way to Look at It
Instead of thinking about the total cost all at once, it can help to think in terms of:
- Sessions over time
- Progress by area
- Getting your home to a place that feels manageable
Some clients prefer to move through everything more quickly and book multiple sessions close together, while others choose to space it out and work through their home over time. Both approaches work. It really just depends on your schedule, your goals, and what feels right for you.
That’s usually what makes the biggest difference.
